Resolution by the Clay County Board of Commisioners Requesting a Presidential Declaration of a Major Disaster

This resolution is the first step in requesting a Presidential Declaration of a Major Disaster.   FEMA sets requirements which must be met for the public assistance program.  The requirement of a per capita indicator of $167,518.83 for Clay County has been met.

Clay County has sent this declaration to the Governor’s Office where the State will have to meet the State of Minnesota per capita requirement, again set by FEMA, which is $6,395,322.70.  Once the state requirement has been met, the Governor will request a Presidential Declaration for those counties in Minnesota that have requested a Major Disaster Declaration.
